Happy Thanksgiving to US....

Happy turkey day for US folks~ I wish I can be across the border now for all that mad discount on black friday weekend!! urghh.....

either I'm too slow or I just don't have the patience to score any deals here in toronto....the Superstore is on NO TAX event right now and people started lining up since midnight just to save $38.99 on a PS3?? I don't get the logic in that....don't your time and sleep worth more than that??

Anyway, I was reminded last night that next thursday is the 26th....which means wifey will be going back to Taiwan in few days!!  I was living in denial and kept thinking that it's still 2 weeks away....sigh~ Needless to say, I'm both sad and stressed at the same time!!

Sad cuz I don't really know when she'll be back this time...but most importantly, stressed cuz I have to look after my cousin on my own now! @_@

Not sure if I said it before but when my parents sold their house 2 months ago and temp. move in with my sis, my little cousin has been living with me since. There were (and still are) a lot of adjustments both me and wifey need to do in order to accomodate her (她小時後就被寵壞所以不好帶).

Now that wifey's going back to taiwan....I'll have to figure out how to cook dinner for my cousin....and also prep her lunch box for school. Mind you she's not like an average kid where a peanut butter sandwich will do....she's used to the lunch box (chinese style with rice, veggie & meat) my parents prep for her all these years.

Anyway, I'm secretly counting down to end of the school year cuz she'll be heading off to university next year!!  At least I won't have to worry about her lunch box anymore~

recession....

This year has got to be one of the worst for my company....people got too scared to invest due to market condition for the past 1.5 yrs! =(  Sarcastically, the market has been going forward ever since this March and no matter how much I tried to talk them into investing....only a few actually listened.

Those that listened, are thrilled as they made a whopping 38%+ return while most others.....are soaking in their measly return because they insist to stay in bond, money market, etc.

Before I went back to taiwan last year Nov, I keep telling people to invest in Gold bullion as it was around $670/oz....they still think it's going to tank further so didn't listen. Well, in 1 year it jumped to $1100/oz so that would've been a hefty 60% gain on their portfolio! And now I'm telling them gold will hit $1500 or even $2000 in few years time and now they think it's too high! @_@

arughhh.....u just can't win with these ppl!!! Well, at least they don't come and blame me for not making them money since they never listened to my suggestions in the first place!

Anyway, due to massive shortage in income this year....I decided that I won't go back to taiwan w/ wifey this year. Money is an issue obviously, but most importantly, people are now starting to invest due to all that media release saying how the recession is over, time to invest, blah blah blah~

I find it funny how people always listen to the press more so than actual professionals!! When I tell them it's time, they still think it's not....when the press tell them it's time (which by now is already too late), now they're thinking of investing!! Most of the profits are already taken up by the earlybirds so only few pieces of pie left for majority of latecomer.....oh well, I got a business to run so can't ditch these clients and go back to taiwan or I might lose them to somebody else!

It's a pity really....as wifey's brother is also going back to taiwan this winter. A brother in law whom I still haven't meet yet!! Crazy I know.....he's all the way in Sydney and he wasn't able to go back before due to his study. Now that he's in university he can finally go back and here I am, stuck in Canada! My in-laws were a bit disappointed but they understand that I need to be here to keep business afloat.....oh well, hope I get to finally see him next year!~

Since this year business was really quiet, this is what me and my buddies were up to for entire summer and up till now....we were "game traders"! =P Much like stock traders, we look for games that can be had for really cheap and trade it in at stores for a profit! Example would be a certain game would cost $9.99 at blockbuster and trade it in at EB Game for $25!!

Running around ain't my thing so I only do this when I happen to pass by stores....but my buddy went all out and even took days off work sometimes due to the discount sale....he was able to rake in more than $3000 profit at the end whereas I only did around $1500 worth of store credits....

oh and A LOT OF game consoles.....

slim03_ps3

after all net cost (not including my time and gas)....I spend about $600 to get $1500 worth of store credits, 6 xboxs & 1 PS3 slim....not bad! =)

Sold few of the xboxs already so that's less of my money spent overall~ But wifey was kinda annoyed that I had so many consoles stored up in my place at one point! lolz....

anyway, gotta go now so more updates later~

Halloween

had one of thes worst halloween ever~

my pda phone decides to die on me yesterday....

38_full_htc_tytnII_2

it's a good thing I backed up all my client/office files on friday or I'll be even more depressed!!

To make things even worse.....lost my bluetooth earphone that night as well!! I have no idea where it went!! Maybe it dropped out of my ear/hand when I was buying groceries?! blah~

moving on....no more talking while driving until I get a new earphone....urghh.....

Water fetish.....

When wifey & I first dated, I always find it a bit strange that she's able to taste the difference between brands of water. To me, water is water....apart from those nasty mineral-infused tab water, bottled water all taste the same in my mouth.

Well, wifey took her passion for water to new height recently.....

....and I nearly fainted when I find out the shipping costs $200 just to ship from Taiwan to Toronto!!  Damn those "limited edition evians"!!! @_@

...and apparently she's eyeing the newest limited edition bottle out for 2009 by Paul Smith....

sigh~ it's so easy to make money off women these days....

ps. she collect the bottles....not drink them. Think I'll really faint if she spends all that money just to drink!  When she was working at Sheraton Taipei, Michael Jackson visited once and request to have boxes and boxes of evian moved to his room so he can take a bath in them. @_O  She said at least few hundred bottles were used for his stay there....

oh boy~

So it was Canadian Thanksgiving this past long weekend....and what did we do? We ate like there's no tomorrow!!

I'm not kidding....first time in my life where I ate 3 different turkeys in 3 consecutive days and now I'm paying the price!!......I'M CONSTIPATED!!!
lulu is so full of sh*t right now it's not even funny!

Friday I got off work early so we can start shopping for next 3 day's grocery list....saturday potluck w/ friends and somwhat of an upside down turkey (they forgot to flip it over), sunday was turkey in Milton (the best turkey my friend ever cooked up IMO) and monday wifey cooked another bird for my folks and brother in law's family.

As good as they were....I'm going to swear off turkey until next year cuz I ate so much I still have turkey-aftertaste in my mouth!!

CIMG0345
didn't get to take pics on all three bird so this one will have to represent! =P

CIMG0341 CIMG0342
and of course....after stuffing ourselves w/ all that turkey, fat burning activity is a must!

~HAPPY 8 YR ANNIVERSARY~

I don't know if people still celebrate their anniversary after getting married (since wedding anniversary naturally takes over). But since I have a habit of remembering dates (whereas wifey has a habit of forgetting)....I still remind her by either taking her out or giving her something little to kinda celebrate the events.

Well, today is our 8 year anniversary and I was going to take her out to somewhere....except now that she's sick w/ running nose and probably physically drained from all that eating/cooking over the long weekend....

So instead of going out....I cleaned the house (mostly kitchen) before heading off to work. She's always complained that I don't do enough in the kitchen but whenever I'm in there she'd kick me out for being clumsy!

And lord and behold, wifey called me at work asking if today is something special because it's not like me to clean out everything before heading off to work! haha...she still doesn't remember what exactly today is but at least she's starting to catch on quicker~

My friends always make fun of me that I have one of the greatest gift in my marriage (woman who can't remember important dates) and I let it go to waste by ruining it all the time~  blah......

oh and wifey's HDTV/monitor finally came and to my relief, it wasn't as "fake pinkish" as the website was showing!! It's subtle yet catchy and it fits right in w/ rest of her pink fetish stuff~ Needless to say, she was thrilled~

CIMG0335
Now that we both have the same thing, she won't fight over w/ me anymore~  But man, it came at a steep price though....stupid custom costs me another $40 on top of the already overpriced monitor! =(

Went to Cirque Du Soleil w/ wifey, my folks & brother in law's family....OVO was alright but a bit disappointing after seeing KOOZA 2 yrs ago. This is more of a story-telling performance (sesame street style) instead of stunt performance so better fitting for kids as their attention span will be drawn to stage.

omg, I almost made a fool out of myself before the show started!! Saw somebody that looked so much like lavender_tint....was about to say hi but shut my mouth cuz the guy she was with does not look anything like her bf!!  It's a good thing I've seen her bf on xanga before or else I'll really look like a fool!  blah~
